The Senior Employment Program provides part-time community service employment for low-income adults 55 and older. It aims to benefit participants by giving them the skills, training, and experience necessary to re-enter the workforce utilizing their labor to improve and expand services in the community. The Senior Employment Program emphasizes both community service and unsubsidized job placements for its participants.

The Senior Companion Program provides meaningful and challenging volunteer opportunities and community involvement for seniors 60 and older while providing services to homebound frail elderly and developmentally disabled adults. Senior Companions help ease loneliness and illness. They bolster self-esteem, help clients solve problems and provide personal assistance. They do not serve as home health aides or drivers or social workers. They are companions…friends. They help people…what friends do for friends. For a frail elderly person, a Senior Companion is often the difference between life of independence and dignity or mere survival. For the Senior Companion, serving means activity, accomplishment and purpose. Fort both clients and companions, Senior Companion Program means enjoying the best life has to offer.

The Foster Grandparent Program also provides meaningful and challenging volunteer opportunities and community involvement for seniors 60 and older to serve as mentors and tutors to at-risk youth and children with special needs. The Foster Grandparent Program provides a unique service built on the natural bond between the young and the old. Many of these children are victims of abuse, neglect, chemical dependency, illiteracy, disability, etc. Many older Americans need to share their love, wisdom and experience. The program is the bridge that connects these generations. The heart of the program is the one on one daily attention that Foster Grandparent Volunteers provide. The grandparents bring an openness and sensitivity to the challenges of helping troubled children. The Foster Grandparent Program Volunteers enrich the lives of the children they serve, while profoundly enriching their own. They restore and reinforce a sense of community and family values with the children.
